About the Author
Carole Dedrick Borthwick is originally a Jersey girl from West Caldwell in Essex County, to be exact. She is currently a long time resident of Florida, residing in Lake County.
In the early years of her marriage, while raising her three children, she bred quality German Shepherds, many imported from Germany.
She felt pleased and humbled to have von Dietrich German Shepherds become successful in the guide dog program. Her visits to the school obviously touched her deeply.
Although this story is fictional, her empathy for the bond between the trainers, the dogs and the recipients is evident throughout.
Carole dedicates this book to her husband, K9 Officer, George W. Borthwick, deceased. Eighteen years with the Winter Park Police Department. George was formerly of Glen Ridge, New Jersey.
Now a grandmother of five and with everybody all grown up and settled, she felt it was time to write a book of love, devotion, inspiration and courage.
